Boarding at Ranby House is completely flexible with a range of options to suit every family's needs, friendly and fun!Modern boarding is very different today from the experience of those who boarded perhaps 30 years ago.
Bedrooms are spacious and colourful, with pupils' own duvets and pictures to personalise their area. Food is tasty, healthy and plentiful, with extra evening snacks of cereal and fruit before bedtime. And above all staff are dedicated and caring.
Pastoral care for our boarders is paramount, and staff are committed to helping the pupils cope with school and the ups and downs of everday life, in addition to just living away from home and the family.
Our two sets of houseparents live in the boarding houses with their own children who are also pupils at Ranby. They are assisted by Matrons, GAP students (who provide an element of youthfulness rather like a responsible older sibling), House Tutors and the Chaplain, all of whom work and live at the school.
Boarding is overseen by the Headmaster, who also lives at the school with his family.
Being a member of the Ranby House boarding community is excellent for boarders and staff alike!

Full time, weekly or flexi? In line with modern boarding practices, and parent requirements, Ranby House offers a range of boarding options to suit family circumstances.
Our 'full' boarders enjoy the complete Ranby experience, staying in at weekends to enjoy the activities on offer. Communication with home is always possible through e-mail and phone, but in many cases parents will find that no news is usually good news, and lack of communication generally means that your child is busy and enjoying themself!
Many boarders are with us for the week, but take the opportunity to go home after school and/or match commitments on Saturday. They may then return either on Sunday evening or on Monday morning ready for the school week.
An increasing number of day pupils now take up the option of 'flexi' boarding, where they will stay on just one, two or three nights of the week. This can be an excellent way of cutting down on 'school run' requirements for those families who live just a little further from school than they would like, or accommodating either the children's evening activities or parents' evening commitments during the week. In many of these cases, however, it is the pupils who choose to board, making the most of the school facilities and having their friends around them for an evening's fun.
