Foundation Stage
Children begin life as a Ranbian after their third birthday. In the teaching Nursery, sessions are flexible to suit individual needs. We recommend a minimum of three sessions per week (any combination of mornings and/or afternoons) building to full time in readiness for entry to Reception.
The colourful Nursery and Reception classrooms provide areas where children can work and play through a variety of challenging teacher led and child initiated activities. The curriculum planned for children is underpinned by the principles of The Early Years Foundation Stage. Particular needs of individuals and different groups of children are catered for.
Transition from the Nursery to the Reception class is planned for and discussed with children and parents. Close liaison between Nursery and Reception staff secure continuity of experience for all children.
Transition to the Reception class is at the beginning of the academic year (September) in which children have their fifth birthday. Attendance is full time. Extra curricular activities on offer for Reception are jazz dance and ballet. |
