French at Ranby House

French is the Modern Foreign Language taught throughout the school at Ranby House by a department of two full-time fully-fluent specialists.

French is taught from Year 1 right up to Year 8, occupying a gradually increasing section of the children’s timetable. It is presented as an examination subject at Common Entrance and Scholarship, features whole –class foreign language presentations at the end of the Summer term in the junior years, and is the only subject to offer an annual, subject-specific overseas language experience visit.
