Ranby House are delighted to announce that Millie Groves age 10 and in Year 5 at Ranby House recently auditioned and was accepted to join the highly prestigious Training Choir of the Cantamus Girls Choir.
Millie was put forward for the auditions by her Vocal Tutor at Ranby House, Sarah Yeardley.
The Training Choir was formed eight years ago, with the aim of preparing girls from the age of 9 for singing in the Main Choir.
The number of girls varies between 30 and 35, as older girls move on to the Main Choir and new girls join. The girls learn the Cantamus repertoire and are taught the very high standards which are expected of them when they appear on stage.
The choir usually gives one main concert each year and always takes part in Christmas concerts with the Main Choir. Over the years, the choir has taken part in various choral events and competitions.
The Pupils' School Council presented a cheque for £207 to a representative from Help for Heroes. This money had been raised from a mufti day in the Autumn Term.

Ex-Ranbian Katie Walter, 17, has become the youngest person ever to reach the South Pole. Her massive achievement, which involved her treking 112 miles through ice, snow and extreme temperatures saw her arrive at the icy landmark of the South Pole on New Year's Day.
Katie, who started her trek from the point where legendary explorer Ernest Shackleton decided to turn back 100 years ago, had to haul a 40kg sled for seven hours a day to reach her target.
In addition to this incredible feat, Katie currently a pupil at Worksop College, has also raised around £1,500 for the air ambulance and £600 for Dyslexia Action.
