Science

Science is taught throughout the school, either by form teachers in years 3 and 4, or by subject specialists in years 5 to 8, in two well equipped Science labs. Up to year 6, pupils follow the National Curriculum in Science and their examination in year 6 is based on Key stage 2 SAT’s questions. In year 7, pupils start the Common Entrance course leading to transfer exams at the end of year 8.

In years 6-8, pupils are setted in Science according to their abilities. In years 6-8, pupils are taught Science as separate disciplines, with broadly speaking, a whole term devoted to either Physics, Chemistry or Biology.

Topics are designed so that pupils can learn by doing practical work to enhance their learning as much as possible. The extensive school grounds provide many and varied habitats to study during the Biology term.
