P.E. and Games soon become a way of life when your child starts at Ranby House School, and  we are justifiably proud of the enthusiasm and commitment that our pupils show towards this subject area. The school is very proud of its strong sporting reputation and we compete well at local, regional and national levels.

The school firmly believes that a philosophy of both sport for all and the strong pursuit of excellence can operate with great success alongside each other at all levels throughout the school.

Games are played on four days of the week and inter-school matches are arranged on most Wednesdays and Saturdays. Children begin to represent the school from Y3/Y4 onwards, and A, B and C team fixtures are arranged in most age groups to give as many children as possible the opportunity of representing the school. Parents are encouraged to support their children at any school match, and there is always afternoon tea for everyone to enjoy following these events.

Rugby, hockey, football, cricket represent the major school games for boys, and hockey, netball, rounders for the girls.

Cross-Country, athletics and orienteering are also performed at a competitive level and pupils often represent the County and perform in National competitions.
